Australian Alpaca Association

The International Alpaca Conference, due to be held in Australia, has been postponed by the board of the Australian Alpaca Association until at least 2021. This is due to clashes with volunteer time, lack of sponsorship and the current drought conditions.

The postponement will also allow more time to work on re-opening the export routes which will encourage overseas visitors to attend.

Meanwhile the use of electric fans at Australian alpaca shows has been suspended due to the safety concerns of the WorkSafe authorities. A bit of an issue for the exhibitors and the AAA board have hired an electrical engineer to provide advice on compliance with Australian standards.
