Perfect day out

North Somerset Show, 6th May 2019.

Around one hundred alpacas competed at an amazingly dry North Somerset Show on the May Bank Holiday. This local agricultural show has experienced many a wet show day which makes it a bit tricky for alpaca showing as the penning and ring are outside. After a sharp frost in the morning this year couldn’t have been better for the alpacas with a pleasant breeze and occasional sunshine.

The judge’s oral reasoning was accompanied by a steady series of bangs as clay pigeon shooting continued all day, with competition sheep shearing, terrier races and a big tug of war competition all near by.

Judge Jay Holland gave the Supreme huacaya sash to the light junior female GT Breeze of GT Alpacas and the Supreme suri to the black junior Snowshill Black Lightning of Snowshill Alpacas.
