Sure Farm, who run the voluntary Enferplex blood testing scheme for camelids, have issued a warning about testing post Brexit.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding our potential exit from the EU on 29th March we are recommending that camelid owners who are thinking about doing a TB blood sample in April consider doing it in March. We are confident that any blood samples received by Surefarm by the 19th March 2019 can be processed and sent for analysis before the Brexit deadline.
We are less confident of the processes and transport of any samples received after this date and for the whole of April. We will thus not be offering a two-week turnaround for results for this period. We are hopeful that any new process will be sorted by May; however, as there is little government advice at this point we cannot be completely sure.
